Heroes Cast Gets Bigger

As if the ensemble cast of supernaturally endowed humans on the runaway hit series, Heroes, wasn?t enough, the second season will be hauling in a whole new set of amazing and exciting characters.

Among the fresh faces set to join the cast is David Anders, arguably one of the most charming villains to grace recent primetime, when he portrayed the enigmatic and cunning Julian Sark semi-regularly throughout five seasons on Josh Abrams? Alias. The 26-year old actor will essay the role of a samurai warrior when Heroes returns for its sophomore season. Anders? character, Takezo Kensei, is the former owner of the sword that was the object of Hiro Nakamura?s quest for the majority of last season.

Aside from Anders, Japanese pop star and actress, Eriko Tamura, will also come on board to play a Japanese princess, while actor Barry Shabaka Henley, who played Detective Strummer on the legal drama Close to Home and was Herbert Muhammed in the movie Ali, will be joining the cast as a New York police officer.

Also due to appear in season two are actors Holt McCallany, Lyndsy Fonseca and Diana Agron. McCallany, who played Detective John Hagen on CSI: Miami, will take on the role of an Irish gang leader while Fonseca, who starred on the sitcom, How I Met Your Mother, and Agron, who was Jenny Budosh on Veronica Mars, will play a couple of cheerleaders from California, who end up befriending Claire. It had been reported earlier that actor Nick D?Agosto will also join the Heroes cast as Claire?s boyfriend, West, who reportedly has his own set of interesting super powers. Actress Dania Ramirez, known for her recurring role on The Sopranos and as Callisto on X-Men: The Last Stand, was the first new cast member to be announced, as the character Maya, who also has special gifts and abilities.
