Hannah Montana Star Keeps Her Feet on the Ground
Miley Cyrus has risen to become one of the biggest youth celebrities today, but this doesn't let her feet fly off the ground. The singer-actress and star of Disney's Hannah Montana still leads a normal life, with the help of her equally grounded parents.
Hannah Montana co-star and country artist Billy Ray Cyrus said when talking about his daughter, "The biggest phenomenon in all this is that the kid's been able to keep her head on her shoulders." The two share a special father-daughter bond, not only due to the fact that they regularly work together, but because Miley considers her father as her main confidant.
"We're really close," Miley confirmed in a conversation with People Magazine. "I feel like I can tell my dad anything. When we come home, we forget that we even work together and just hang out."
Miley's mother, Leticia "Tish" Finley Cyrus is considered the disciplinarian of the family, thus she makes sure that Miley and the rest of the family are lectured about the common mistakes that other young celebrities have made.
Tish expressed her concern by saying, "It is so scary as a mom to see all these kids who are so whacked now."
Like any other regular teenager, Miley still attends school, making this a part of her daily routine. Right now, the Hannah Montana star is enrolled at a public school, allowing her to study on set and come in for tests every Friday. At home, she also leads the normal life, getting her fair share of daily chores, including loading the dishwasher at night.
Moreover, 14 year old Miley stays grounded through attending mass every Sunday with her entire family, consisting of her parents, her younger brothers Braison and Noah, and her older step siblings from her mother, Brandi and Trace.
Miley has attained great success, both in television and music, since breaking into the entertainment industry. On Tuesday, she released her debut album packaged with the second song compilation for Hannah Montana. The first Hannah Montana album entered the Billboard Top 200 at #1 and recently reached triple platinum in sales. She has also opened a Hannah Montana product line in cooperation with Disney, which is being featured in Wal-Mart Soundcheck.
